Assistant Faculty in Workforce Skills - Online (Part-Time)

Job Summary:
We are looking for a part-time Assistant Faculty to support our Online Workforce Skills class, starting on October 2, 2023. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing student activity, responding to discussions and assessments, assisting with grading and feedback, and providing recommendations to increase student engagement. You will also assist the lead instructor with student outreach, developing supplemental support materials, and other duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze student activity and respond appropriately to discussions and assessments
- Assist with managing student communications and escalate unique issues to the lead instructor
- Assist with grading and providing feedback to students
- Monitor student engagement levels and provide recommendations to increase engagement
- Assist the lead instructor with student outreach, live sessions, and other student support
- Develop supplemental support documents, videos, and job aids as needed
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Science, or a related field
- Professional experience in the field of study preferred
- Previous teaching experience, with online teaching experience a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated effective time management and relationship-building skills
- Comfortable using technology to facilitate learning, with experience using Canvas a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Teams, and Google Education
Work Schedule:
The Assistant Faculty will be required to work 28 hours a week, with flexible hours on Mondays, Wednesdays, and one day on the weekend (either Saturday or Sunday). The rest of the days during the week are flexible.
