1st Grade Self-Contained Teacher - Humble Classical Academy
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate 1st Grade Self-Contained Teacher to join our team at Humble Classical Academy, a Responsive Education Solutions school. As a self-contained teacher, you will play a vital role in facilitating learning for our students, enabling them to reach their full potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. You will work closely with parents and students to develop competencies and skills necessary for success in society.Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver effective lessons, instruct, and motivate students in all areas of study, utilizing classical traditional methods of instruction.
- Assign lessons, correct classwork and homework, and administer formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress.
- Maintain student grades, classroom calendar, and student-parent communication via our online grading and communication tool.
- Provide academic interventions for struggling students and work closely with Special Education and 504 teachers to ensure accommodations are implemented.
- Maintain a safe, attractive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages a spirit of inquiry.
- Communicate regularly with students and parents to discuss student progress and participate in required faculty and professional meetings.
Requirements:
- Texas State Teacher's Certification as Elementary Generalist or Elementary Self-Contained Teacher.
- Bachelor's degree with a passing score on an ExCET/TExES Exam in grade level or content area to be taught.
- Preferred experience in classical schools or classical education, or experience teaching with classical traditional methods.
- Strong knowledge of instructional academic content, ability to model virtue, and teach virtue through the curriculum.
- Excellent organizational, time management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
