Accounting Manager - Promotion Deals

Join our collaborative team as an Accounting Manager! This is a fully Remote opportunity to leverage your strong accounting skills in a dynamic environment. You will play a key role in managing the bookkeeping and billing processes for Disney's Straight Organizations (ESPN, ABC, Disney Station, Freestyle, FX, and National Geographic). This position offers a competitive salary of $25-$35 per hour.

Accounting Manager - Promotion Deals Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the financial close and promotion deals billing processes for Disney's Straight Organizations.
  • Manage a team performing promotion deals billing and develop expertise in the technology systems used.
  • Review journal entries, accounting reports, and revenue reconciliations, corporate calendars, and ad-hoc requests.
  • Serve as a SOX Control Owner for Billing, Accounts Receivable, and Revenue controls.
  • Ensure appropriate controls are in place and operating, aligned with overall SOX initiatives.
  • Work closely with Finance Reporting teams and Corporate Finance to ensure financial outcomes are accurately accounted for.
  • Manage client service by providing timely and accurate invoicing to internal and external partners.
  • Collaborate with Technology, Finance, and Sales on technology builds for new agreements and initiatives supporting the promotion deals business.
  • Supervise internal and external auditor requests related to Direct Promotion Deals.
  • Develop and mentor a team by assessing strengths and development areas, and providing career growth opportunities.

Essential Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of public or confidential bookkeeping experience required.
  • Solid understanding of bookkeeping principles and practical application.
  • Experience as a leader or leading teams.
  • Advanced working knowledge of process flows and understanding of front-of-house systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, with proven negotiation abilities.
  • Advanced working knowledge of agreements as it relates to billing management.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate successfully with internal or external business initiatives.
  • Excellent leadership, influencing, and coaching abilities.
  • Proactive with a desire to succeed in a demanding, changing, and detail-oriented environment; able to handle multiple requests across different divisions.
  • Ability to adapt quickly, work independently, take ownership, and work in a flexible team environment.
  • Strong logical and problem-solving skills, proficiency using Excel.
  • Positive attitude, engaged, articulate, and efficient.

Additional Qualifications (Preferred):

  • Experience in public bookkeeping is preferred.
  • Related knowledge with or knowledge of SAP is preferred.
  • Related knowledge with larger-scale financial or potential data system integrations including prerequisite arranging and client tolerating testing.

Required Education:

  • Four-year college degree required (Ideally in Bookkeeping, Finance, or related field).
  • CPA is a plus.
