SUMMARY: Coordinate all insurance and patient pre-authorization and collection efforts for Durable Medical Device Company by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: • Contact payers to verify patient eligibility and product specific coverage information. • Interface with physicians, advocates, patients and manufacturer representatives to obtain and provider payer policy and specific coverage information. • Provide accurate and timely follow-up to all reimbursement inquires in accordance with program guidelines. • Obtain prior authorization when required. • Research and compile payer specific information for reimbursement database • Review aging reports and correspondence to locate and address outstanding insurance claims, and patient balances • Responsible for reconciling delinquent claims • Responsible for coordinating and communicating patient balances with management, patients and outside management company • Respond to and resolve patient billing inquires via email, phone and in person • Other duties as assigned • This job has no supervisory responsibilities REQUIREMENTS: • Minimum of 3 years recent medical collection and prior authorization experience (excluding school/externship) • Ability to multitask and handle a high volume in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions • Previous experience with Medical Collections, Reimbursements or Prior-Authorizations • Ability to effectively communicate using proper grammar, spelling and punctuation • Ability to read and properly evaluate an EOB and to enter data quickly and accurately • Ability to use sound independent judgment and self-supervise • Intermediate knowledge of standard office procedures and software applications • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel • Experience utilizing Practice Management software • Basic knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 / ICDc-10 coding as well as medical terminology • Experience with in and out of network appeals • Experience with Military and government payers including VA • High School Diploma or GED required • Brightree Experience Preferred Job Type: Full-time Salary: $18-$25 an hour Benefit Conditions: • Waiting period may apply • Only full-time employees eligible Benefits offered: • Health insurance • Dental insurance • Retirement benefits or accounts Work Remotely • Yes • Candidates located in Central, Mountain, Pacific, Alaskan, & Hawaiian US - Time Zones are encouraged to apply.
