Qualifications TYPING PROFICIENCY: This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. NOTE: THIS INFORMATION MUST BE SUPPORTED IN YOUR RESUME TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE POSITION. GS-07: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Dispatching emergency vehicles; performing incoming and outgoing multi-phone line operations; assessing incoming emergency calls with Standard Operation Procedures or guidelines to determine the proper course of action; dispatching in a high volume/urgent environment. GS-06: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Dispatching emergency vehicles; performing incoming and outgoing multi-phone line operations; assessing incoming emergency calls with Standard Operation Procedures or guidelines to determine the proper course of action; dispatching in a high volume/urgent environment. GS-05: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Operating radio communication equipment to dispatch services; Receiving incoming telephone or alarm systems calls. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. For GS-07: Incumbent will be required to attend and satisfactorily complete the following training/certification: Telecommunicator, perform criminal history checks, and certified in Emergency Medical Dispatch. Incumbent is required to successfully complete the RDC Training Program within 8 months of reporting aboard to include classroom and On-The-Job Training. For GS-06: Incumbent will be required to attend and satisfactorily complete the following training/certification prior to advancement, within 8 months, and renew qualifications at required frequency. Training expectations will be completion of mandatory training/certification including Telecommunicator, Incident Command System (ICS), Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD), and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Additionally, incumbent will be able to seamlessly operate Land Mobile Radio (LMR), Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), and the emergency call system. Incumbent will have completed the regional dispatch training program and be able to perform call taker, police, fire, and medical dispatch functions. For GS-05: Incumbent will be required to attend and satisfactorily complete the following training/certification prior to advancement, within 8 months, and renew qualifications at required frequency. Training expectations will be completion of mandatory training/certification including Telecommunicator, Incident Command System (ICS), Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD), and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Additionally, incumbent will be able to seamlessly operate Land Mobile Radio (LMR), Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), and the emergency call system. Education For the GS-05 position: In lieu of specialized experience, you may also qualify based on education as follows: Successful completion of four years of education above high school level OR Have a combination of education and specialized experience as described above that equates to one year experience. Working Environment: The normal worksite is within a climate controlled Regional Dispatch Center facility. Employees may be required to work long periods without breaks.
