Job Summary: Instructional, teacher education position for our online program.

Salary:
PLNU pays adjuncts based on their experience and academic rank. Using a 3 unit full semester appointment as a payguide, the adjunct pay ranges would be between $3,225 and $4,805. The actual salary will be determined by the units, course length, experience, and rank of the candidate. Adjuncts are paid on an hourly basis which includes preparation and teaching time.

Job Description:
RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach online graduate level courses in the following online areas: Teacher Preparation, Special Education, School Administration, Counseling and Guidance, Curriculum and Instruction, Higher Education and Research Methods.
QUALIFICATIONS
Evidence of a minimum of five years of highly successful experience in K-12 settings.*
Knowledge of Common Core design, implementation and assessment.*
Evidence of valid California credential.*
Proven expertise as a K-12 teacher/counselor/administrator working with diverse student populations.*
Evidence of strong leadership, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to model current instructional pedagogy and practices such as RTI, restorative justice, positive behavior intervention strategies, project-based learning.
Proven ability, flexibility and willingness to teach a range of evening classes.
Willingness to significantly support the university's mission and the School of Education's vision and goals for teaching, learning and spiritual formation.
Ability to use the course learning management system (Canvas) and assessment program (TaskStream).
Evidence of a commitment to continuous professional development.
Evidence of active participation in professional educational organizations.
Philosophical: Thorough commitment to the concept of Christian liberal arts education and a desire to work in a Christian university. Supportive of the religious and educational goals of the university and its sponsoring denomination.
Personal: Evidence of Christian commitment and active church involvement. In addition, faculty agree to live in agreement with PLNU’s .
