About the role TeleMed2U is seeking experienced and mission-driven PAs or NPs to join our expanding team supporting the California Department of Public Health’s AIDS Drug Assistance Program - CDPH PrEP-AP Telehealth Program. This role is central to delivering culturally responsive, telehealth-based HIV prevention and treatment services to underserved populations across California. What you'll do • Conduct asynchronous consults, phone visits or and synchronous video visits for patients initiating or continuing PrEP, nPEP, or doxy PEP. • Review structured digital intake surveys and determine clinical eligibility. • Order labs, interpret results, and manage follow-up care in collaboration with RNs and navigators. • Prescribe and manage medications per established ADAP guidelines, ensuring accurate entry into the EHR and timely fulfillment through program-approved pharmacies. • Provide anticipatory guidance and adherence counseling for patients initiating PrEP/nPEP, including education on side effects, medication timelines, and missed dose protocols. • Deliver patient-centered counseling related to HIV risk reduction and behavioral strategies. • Document all clinical encounters in the EHR and ensure timely communication with patients via secure portal or SMS. • Collaborate with CDPH Enrollment Workers to ensure patients are linked to care and enrolled in support programs. • Monitor patients longitudinally for medication adherence, lab compliance, and care retention, including proactive outreach for patients overdue on follow-ups or labs. • Engage in secure messaging or telephonic outreach with patients for results follow-up, medication refill authorizations, and re-assessments. • Maintain ongoing familiarity with CDC clinical guidance, programmatic updates, and ADAP formulary requirements. • On- Call opportunity Qualifications • Active California PA-C or NP license and current DEA registration. • Nurse Practitioners: NP 103 or NP 104 license is a plus. • Experience in HIV prevention, infectious disease, and telehealth preferred. • Strong clinical judgment, documentation skills, and comfort with asynchronous workflows. • Commitment to health equity and patient-centered care. • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus. • Willingness to work on the weekends. Compensation: • 1099 Opportunity • Flexible Schedule- Fully Remote • Work from anywhere within US • Competitive Compensation: • * On-Call Compensation Structure • * Daily On-Call Shift Rate (8 hours): $200 per shift (same rate applies to weekdays and weekends) • Evening On-Call Rate (Monday–Friday, 5:00–9:00 PM PST): $100 per evening • Active Clinical Care Compensation: If called in to provide patient care (e.g., video visits, phone consultations, asynchronous consults), providers will be compensated at an hourly rate of $65–$70, depending on experience and service type.
