Compensation: $50,000-$55,000, plus benefits and generous paid leave; starting salary is determined by factors including qualifications, experience, education, and years in the industry.
Maine Children’s Home is seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Advancement Services and Research Manager to support our mission by ensuring the systems, data, and service behind fundraising, communications, and donor and volunteer engagement run smoothly, securely, and with excellence. What You'll Do:
Reporting to the Director of Advancement, you will be responsible to:
· Manage and optimize the donor/prospect/volunteer/marketing CRM as a subject matter expert and administrator, ensuring accuracy, security, and functionality for everyone
· Develop and implement data entry standards, building and maintaining an advancement services procedures library and training team members
· Provide a helpful, positive “customer service” experience for all donors and prospects, including by phone, email, and in-person
· Lead and execute gift processing and accurate, timely gift acknowledgments and correspondence for all financial and non-cash gifts, including estate gifts and grant awards; may include seasonal day-to-day direction of a team assistant
· Lead and execute ongoing data hygiene and integrity activity
· Conduct proactive and reactive detailed donor and prospect research and segmentation to identify and qualify individual, corporate, and foundation prospects
· Assist in maintaining prospect pipeline and ensuring moves management activity tracking
· Create accurate and timely lists, reports, and dashboards for campaigns, mailings, etc.
· Provide data-informed insights to guide development strategies, planning, and campaigns
· Ensure compliance with the IRS, privacy laws, and advancement services best practices
· Collaborate with the full advancement team to support strategic fundraising, stewardship and recognition, marketing and communications, and volunteer efforts
What We’re Looking For:
· A bachelor’s degree, plus 2–4 years of experience in nonprofit development operations and gift administration or prospect research
· A genuine love of clean data, excellent spelling, good systems, and accurate reporting
· Strong tech skills and admin experience in CRM and tech systems (e.g., NeonCRM, Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce), and Microsoft Office skills (i.e., Word and Excel)
· Typing speed minimum of 65 wpm with near-perfect accuracy
· Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
· A self-starter with a default of problem-solving, troubleshooting, and eagerness to learn
· Careful attention to detail and commitment to donor confidentiality and customer service
· A helpful, “can do” attitude and a commitment to Maine Children’s Home’s mission
