Manager, Donation Coordinators
About the position
Responsibilities
• Manages and evaluates all aspects of the Donation Coordinator (DC) tissue referral, screening and authorization activities at LifeLink.
• Manages DC activities, including operational, clinical, development and/or personnel issues.
• Ensure appropriate controls are in place to oversee work both in the office and remotely when permitted for certain staff.
• Responsible for administrative activities of the Department, including scheduling, time management and performance management.
• Participates in the identification, hiring and training of new Donation Coordinators.
• Provides ongoing training, coaching and mentoring of staff.
• Encourages on-going professional development for staff and monitors job satisfaction.
• Responsible for staying up to date with current screening criteria, informed consent, and authorization or donor disclosure requirements.
• Ensures that staff is educated as Criteria, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Guidelines are added or changed, and that training is appropriately documented.
• Analyzes operational and performance data and assesses effectiveness of current policy and procedures, identifying and directing situational problem resolution and process improvement activities.
• Ensures appropriate communication between Donor Services and other agencies operating in the service area.
• Works closely with supervisors and staff to develop and maintain training tools and accurate training records.
• Works closely with supervisor and staff to develop and maintain key individual and program performance metrics.
• Utilizes performance measurement to drive continuous improvement.
• In conjunction with director, participates in and performs mid-year, self, and annual evaluations for Donor Services staff.
• Routinely communicates with supervisors to solicit feedback regarding the development and / or performance of staff.
• Other responsibilities may be assigned as requested by the Director, Donor Services.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years management/supervisory experience in the management of donor referral and authorization activities.
• Strong knowledge and experience in the use of referral management systems, data entry, protocol development and reporting.
• Medical-related degree/certification or appropriate experience in a medical environment.
• Recommended CTBS certification with AATB.
• Medical knowledge specific to organ and tissue donation, focusing primarily on the donor screening process for tissue.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills in order to converse with all levels.
• Demonstrates above average written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently within prescribed guidelines while exercising good judgment in seeking appropriate guidance as required.
• Ability to promote and embrace a teamwork environment.
• Ability to lift up to 25lbs.
