Job Responsibilities: Manage Subrogation Department workflow; reviewing claims for quality, process and accuracy; ensuring timely communications and accurate lien reimbursement calculations Provide coaching and development opportunities to staff, ensuring alignment with NJM competencies and department workforce expectations Facilitate team goals and objectives, in alignment with department operational plan and value proposition. Conduct regular one on ones with staff to support growth and development, monitor performance standards and provide recognition. Review and approve requests for lien waivers, within authority, including, but not limited to requests under N.J.S.A. 34:15-20 Review calculations for Orders Approving Settlements, Orders for Total Disability, Certifications under N.J.S.A. 34:15-12b Coordinate and manage effective claim recoveries in the best interest of policyholders Prepare subrogation claims analyses and attend claims reviews Draft Preservation/Inspection Letters and interface with policyholders related to same Review and provide authority for settlement negotiations of liens within authority Manage complex claims, CAT Claims and Death claims for Subrogation investigation Oversee referrals to outside law firm Conduct monthly staff meetings Manage projects related to subrogation recoveries Prepare end of year analysis of subrogation recoveries Provide and implement process improvements Provide reporting of trends within the unit Process overflow subrogation tasks Interface and coordinate with legal defense counsel to ensure proper protection of lien rights Monitors performance standards Attend/Participate in Mediations as needed Required Skills & Experience: Ability to collaborate with team to improve financial stewardship and service of policyholders Ability to provide creative solutions to subrogation settlements, opportunities and processes Knowledge of subrogation laws governing workers? compensation in NJ, PA, NY, CT, DE, MD Ability to handle pressure-based environment while maintaining professional demeanor Proven communication skills with a strong phone presence in extensive communication. Must be able to handle difficult conversations and exhibit conflict management skills. Ability to work within a team environment in a positive and cooperative manner Take ownership of tasks and see them through to completion. Honor commitments and fulfill promises. Ability to work remotely with excellent time management, self-discipline, and organizational skills. Responsible for the accuracy and clarity of all documents. Ability to provide effective leadership through coaching and development. The salary range for this role is $86,000 - $108,000. Compensation is commensurate with experience and credentials.
