Work Schedule
Standard business hours are M-F, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Individual and work group schedule determined by TCEQ Program Support and Environmental Assistance Division Office.

This position is a member of our Program Support and Environmental Assistance division.
HERE?S WHAT YOU?LL BE DOING
? Coordinate the highly advanced implementation and oversight of Clean Air Act (CAA) programs/activities with the central office and regional offices. Function as an expert in the CAA programs and regulations. May testify as an expert witness in legal proceedings.
? Develop and review technical data, protocols, and procedures. Provide highly technical consultative services to TCEQ staff, the public, regulated community, media, and other interested parties. Oversee or perform technical data collection, research, analysis, evaluation, or surveys and evaluates impacts on natural resources.
? Mentor and support TCEQ staff in the use of advanced instrumentation, including the use of optical gas imaging technologies and interpretation of collected data. Serve as the backup for the Optical Gas imaging program.
? Research and evaluate technological advancements of field instrumentation for potential utilization by OCE.
? Organize and coordinate activities related to advanced technical training on handheld equipment for field investigators.
? Coordinate and supervise the activities of a workgroup or team.
Qualifications
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
? Experience with Clean Air Act (CAA) and/or Title V programs from a regulatory standpoint.
? Experience in collecting, reviewing, interpreting, and analyzing field instrument data.
? Experience providing guidance to and/or responding to requests from the public, regulated community, media, and/or other government entities concerning policy and/or technical issues.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in a natural or physical science, engineering, environmental studies, or related field, plus six years of full-time experience in environmental activities.
One year of full-time experience in the field of environmental activities may be substituted for each year (30 semester hours) of the required education.
OR
A master?s degree from an accredited college or university in the degrees listed above, or related fields plus five years of the required experience.
OR
A doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, science, environmental science, or related fields plus four years of the required experience.
OR
Two years of full-time experience as a Natural Resources Specialist IV at the TCEQ.

CURRENT TCEQ EMPLOYEES
This position is also available as a lateral transfer opportunity (LTO) to TCEQ employees within the Natural Resources Specialist II-IV state classification. The selected candidate must meet the minimum qualifications of the corresponding job in the Natural Resources Specialist II-IV series.
