Position Summary:
The Website and Social Media Coordinator has primary responsibility for all website-based marketing and communication activities as well as social media activities at the university, serving in the Office of Communications and Marketing as part of an integrated marketing/communications team, under the direction of the Director of Communications and Marketing. The Coordinator is the university?s sole ?web master? and is responsible for content development, design, and organization of the university?s primary website and form building website. The Coordinator is responsible for the design, creation and publishing of a weekly e-newsletter. Additionally, the Coordinator is responsible for managing the university?s social media sites which includes writing and/or gathering content, images, graphics and photos to schedule posts using Hootsuite or another comparable social media management platform.

Primary Duties:
? Responsible for all aspects of the university website, including web research, web marketing strategies, content development (writing and editing), content solicitation and management (working with departments across campus), graphic design (according to pre-approved templates), web-based project management, photography, ongoing maintenance, and quality control, under the direction and supervision of the Director of Communications and Marketing (maintaining a close working relationship with various campus clients);
? Research and advise university officials on software programs, web content management system, web tools, database technologies, and Internet/database integration languages necessary to develop and/or maintain university websites;
? Gather and report user information, provide ongoing evaluation of emerging web technologies, and provide training and guidance to staff and faculty across campus in regard to updates and additions to web content;
? Demonstrate self-motivation, meet multiple deadlines, provide excellent customer service, facilitate workflow processes, and possess the ability to manage large amounts of information.

Secondary Duties:
? Write, edit and manage content for various RSU websites, weekly e-newsletter and social media platforms;
? Proofread and edit all content on the web;
? Work with various university departments and representatives on content and photo opportunities;
? Handle basic digital photography for use on the website along with other members of the Communications and Marketing team;
? Ensure that all materials posted on the website maintain a consistent message and meet the style and quality guidelines of the university;
? Attend meetings regarding university communications and marketing activities and coordinate resulting web development projects;
? Meet multiple daily deadlines;
? Consider and comply with laws governing copy such as compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and other state and federal guidelines;
? Evaluate and analyze web development and tracking software statistics and create content plans based on this information;
? Other duties as assigned.

Reports to: Director of Communications and Marketing

Supervision Given to: Student Workers Hours: 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Mon-Fri.

About our ideal candidate

Minimum Qualifications: ? Bachelor?s or master?s degree in journalism, advertising, marketing, English, business, or related field of study; ? Computer science majors with strong writing, editing, and graphic design skills will be considered; ? Two or more years of writing for public relations, marketing, advertising or related field preferred; ? Two or more years of web content development and design responsibilities, and two or more years of experience in a communications, public relations, marketing or advertising environment preferred (agency, corporate, or institutional).

Knowledge and Skills:
? Web Marketing Skills;
? Demonstrate a working knowledge of successfully communicating messages to target audience and possess experience in developing text for web pages.

Technical Skills:
? Minimum of basic knowledge of Mac and/or PC computers;
? Ability to work with a digital camera;
? Experience with photo editing tools (preferably Photoshop);
? Familiarity with MS Word and other word processing tools;
? Minimum of basic Internet/e-commerce knowledge;
? Understanding of HTML, CSS and other programming languages;
? Experience in WordPress is preferred but not required
