ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT II

This is a merit hire position. The starting rate for this position is $18.52. The Administrative Assistant II serves as a staff assistant to the Administrator and performs administrative and office support activities for the Administrator and other management staff members; acts as a liaison between the Agency and other county agencies, among community organizations, other private and public agencies, and the general public; supervises clerical staff persons and completes assignments with considerable initiative and independence. The Administrative Assistant II is responsible for the coordination of all human resource functions within the Agency to include the tracking of timely performance evaluations, processing of all necessary communications/forms to adhere to HR policy regarding contractual and policy based changes, and the tracking of all required trainings and clearances for both new and existing personnel; coordination of all written communications concerning the Dauphin County Area Agency on Aging Advisory Board including terms of appointment, routine Board and Board Committee meetings minutes; meeting minutes; coordination of necessary supplies/equipment across Agency staff members; and communicates and tracks all necessary work requests with the county maintenance and building management.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND TRAINING:
? One year of experience as a staff assistant to an administrative officer or as a technician in a staff service of a large organization.
? And such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four-year college or university.
? Or any equivalent combination of experience and training.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

At the time of hire, a valid driver's license and positive driving record, a favorable criminal background check, child abuse and FBI clearances, as well as favorable references are required. The applicant must provide proof of a valid Pennsylvania driver's license within 60 days from the date of hire. An alternative form of identification will be accepted if you are not eligible to receive a Pennsylvania driver's license under 67 PA. Code 83 and driving is not an essential function of the position.
