Responsibilities
? Perform routine technical work using simple engineering practices and equipment.

? Assist the FDEP Laboratory's resident engineer with maintenance of the laboratory's infrastructure.

? Administer the hazardous waste management program.
,
? Conduct safety inspections and related duties.
,
? Assist with construction and building renovation for the laboratory.
,
? Help maintain critical laboratory support systems, including compressed gas and de-ionized water delivery systems.

? Participate in sample kit packing activities and processing of received samples.

? Conduct regular inspections of laboratory safety equipment and assist with safety audits.

? Maintain and update the laboratory's hazardous waste management plan.

? Assist with the inventory and disposal of laboratory equipment.
Requirements
? High school diploma or GED equivalent.
,
? 3 years of verifiable related work experience.
,
? Knowledge of basic mathematics.
,
? Ability to take measurements and calculate quantities using a hand-held calculator.

? Ability to walk, bend, stoop, squat, push, and crawl on various terrains and weather conditions.

? Ability to climb heights or depths up to 20 feet safely.

? Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

? Dependable and reliable with the ability to work independently.

? Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

? Ability to work overtime, nights, holidays, and weekends on short notice.
