Job Description

Essential Functions:

Utilizes the ANA Nursing Process guidelines from 2010 to execute the following functions:
? Collects exhaustive data that is relevant to the healthcare consumer's health and situation.
? Assesses the assessment data to ascertain the diagnosis or relevant concerns.
? Predicts the anticipated effects for a customized plan structured around the healthcare individual's requirements.
? Crafts a scheme outlining methods and alternatives for achieving desired results.
? Carries through with the identified strategy. Confirms patient development along the strategy.
? Coordination of Care involves integrating the delivery of healthcare services.
? The focus of health teaching and health promotion is to encourage health and safety through the implementation of strategies.
? Consultation tasks advanced practice registered nurses and nursing role specialists with influencing the identified plan, strengthening the abilities of others, and catalyzing impactful change.
? Considers the progress made in attaining specified outcomes.

? In delivering care, Registered Professional Nurses must comply with the legal requirements of the state in which they work and follow the standards, policies, and regulations enforced by accrediting and certifying entities.
? Observes and conforms to the provisions in the Code of Ethics for Nurses (ANA 2010).

Demonstrates proficiency in utilizing suitable technology and software to:
? Assisting in documenting and supporting the execution of nursing tasks and patient care interventions.
? Engage with important work-related applications to actively participate and contribute as a dedicated employee of the organization, such as using company email services, completing iLearn training modules, participating in employee feedback surveys, accessing information on benefits and compensation, and familiarizing yourself with company policies.

Additional Requirements

Required:

Education - Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing

Certifications - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) - Within 60 days of hire or transfer; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing

Regarding BLS certification:

The department you are applying to may require BLS certification sooner than 60 days post transfer/hire. The hiring manager will discuss this with you if it is applicable.

Preferred:

Experience - 5+ years of Registered Nurse Experience

Education - Bachelors degree in Nursing

Physical Requirements:

Very Heavy work - exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force occassionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours), which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
