About the position

The Track Supervisor is responsible for inspecting and maintaining all track structures and right-of-way (ROW) in accordance with specifications set by CSX Transportation (CSXT) and the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA). This role involves direct supervision and development of track forces to ensure quality maintenance and safe work performance. The supervisor will monitor all aspects of safety and overall track inspection and maintenance within their assigned area of responsibility on a division. A key aspect of this position is leading and managing personal safety and track safety processes while ensuring compliance with company policies. In this role, the supervisor will manage safe and efficient work conditions, efficiently plan work, and allocate resources to ensure timely accomplishment of tasks. They will inspect production gang work and track construction projects to ensure quality compliance and monitor track inspections periodically to ensure that all Federal and CSX requirements are being met by Track Inspectors. The supervisor will also ensure that any defects identified by geometry cars and rail test cars are corrected through proper remedial action, utilizing the CSX Integrated Track Inspection System (ITIS) and CSX Geometry Exceptions Management System (GEMS) for reporting and tracking work. Additionally, the supervisor will conduct efficiency and operational tests, effectively communicate and build rapport across departments, sub-departments, and public agencies. They will utilize performance management and interpersonal skills to provide timely feedback and coaching as required to maintain discipline and improve performance. The supervisor is also responsible for ensuring compliance with budget constraints regarding hiring, overtime, and materials procurement, as well as conducting engineering activities during major derailments and natural disasters. Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities may be assigned by the manager as needed.

Responsibilities

Requirements
? Associates Degree/2-year Degree with less than 1 year of supervisory experience in Railroad Engineering Operations.

? High School Diploma/GED with 1 or more years of supervisory experience in Railroad Engineering Operations.

? Bachelor's Degree/4-year Degree

? Knowledge of FRA regulatory standards
