Call for proposals for Innovation in Addressing Gender-based violence
Posted 2025-04-22The World Bank and Sexual Violence Research Initiative (SVRI) accepts applications for the Development Market place: Innovations to Address Gender-Based Violence.
According to the World health organization (WHO) estimations, about 35% of women around the world have experienced physical or sexual partner or non-partner sexual violence that is roughly 938 million women. Violence against women and girls is resulting to prevent their participation in the society, limiting their access to education and economic development.
The World Bank and Sexual Violence Research Initiative (SVRI) provide funding for the advancement of interventions for preventing and responding gender based violence (GBV) in low and middle income countries. In the last four year, World Bank and SVRI has invested over 4 million dollar in innovative research projects in 28 countries.
Successful applicants will be awarded up to 100000 USD and will be engaged in research interventions or other GBV relevant activities, research or project design.
